Our compact marine air conditioners are designed to fit tight spaces—checking technical specifications ensures the perfect match.
There is no single “one-size-fits-all” seawater pump for marine air conditioners. The correct pump size depends on three factors: the air-conditioning unit, your specific installation, and the pump’s performance characteristics.
Each model lists a “Water Flow” value in the Technical Specifications tab. This rating refers to the required water flow at the unit outlet, not the pump size itself.
Because water flow is reduced by hose length, fittings, and vertical lift (head pressure), the pump selected must be capable of delivering the required flow at your actual installation head. Always reference the pump’s performance curve to confirm this.

Tip: If your installation involves unusually long hose runs, multiple elevation changes, or shared manifolds, consult the pump flow curve or a marine HVAC professional to ensure proper sizing.
We know space on any marine vessel is limited and valuable! Our units are designed to be among the most compact in their class, but every installation space is different. Always measure your available space before purchasing.
Refer to the “Dimensions & Drawings” tab under each model for exact measurements, including overall size and service clearances. Confirm that there is adequate room not only for the unit itself, but also for hose connections, wiring, airflow, and future maintenance access.

Each unit is pre-charged, and includes the core components required to operate the system:
Installation-specific items — such as seawater pumps, plumbing components, ducting, venting, grilles, and fittings — vary by vessel and layout and are not included. These items must be selected separately based on your setup.
If you are replacing an existing marine air-conditioning unit, most installations can reuse the existing set up.

Each marine air conditioner requires hundreds of gallons per hour of water flow from an open loop system. Water tanks, pools, tubs, etc. will not work.
They are also not UL-listed for use outside of a marine environment and are not approved for non-marine installations.
Generator size depends on your specific MarinAire model, voltage, and what other onboard loads you plan to run at the same time. We recommend consulting a qualified marine electrician for final generator selection and installation. You can run MarinAire on DC (battery) power by using a pure sine wave inverter to convert your battery bank’s DC into AC power. Because inverter sizing, wiring, and battery performance vary by installation, we strongly recommend consulting a qualified marine electrician for accurate system design and verification. This is my 3rd AC unit I purchased from Marine Air, for DIY replacement installations. My boat has 3 units, and just finished my 3rd and final install. Each separate order, Marine Air calls me the same-day to verify the online purchase and that it's the correct part number. Then they send along this tracking number of the shipment, same-day. Each time, I received the units in 2-3 days. During installation I have had a questions and they answer the phone for support, even on a Saturday. Again, great Company... and I'm writing this on my boat, while the AC's are running nicely.

I was installing this to replace a split unit. Everything went well. The unit cooled great, and I can't wait to test it in the hot July summers here. I will be buying another soon.
Recently the unit in my SeaRay 280 died and since R22 is no longer an option I decided to try the Marine Air unit. I calculated the total space and for the midwest it indicated that 7,000 would be optimum. We went with the 6,000BTU unit and it works perfectly. Cools the boat promptly and seems to pull the moisture out. The fit required an adapter plate to fit the distribution plenum, but other than that it was a piece of cake. THANKS!

Installation quick and easy, I replaced a 2 part system. It easily fit into the area that the evaporator used to occupy. I was worried it would be loud, it is not! We love the new unit!

The unit seems to be built well. Light weight but strong wherr it needs to be. Stainless steel where it needs to be. Doest appear corrosion will be a problem. It came packed very well with everything needed to install. Hook up hoses, power and plug the new stat. Works great. Very quite. My old unit started with a bang. Barely hear this one. My circ pump is louder than the unit. Id buy another one

I originally purchased a 16k Btu unit to replace one if my failed dometic units. The process was quick and easy. Shipment arrived one day later. All went so well I purchased a 6k btu unit to replace my other dometic unit. Both are working very well. I am extreamly pleased with the product and sales support.

Great little unit, especialy for the price. This is my 2nd one, hope the titanium last longer. I ordered it on Sunday night, it shipped on Monday and arrived on Tuesday, I had a Marinaire rep call to verify I had ordered the right one for proper fit before they shipped it out even. All in All, very satisfied.
