Our compact marine air conditioners are designed to fit tight spaces—checking technical specifications ensures the perfect match.
There is no single “one-size-fits-all” seawater pump for marine air conditioners. The correct pump size depends on three factors: the air-conditioning unit, your specific installation, and the pump’s performance characteristics.
Each model lists a “Water Flow” value in the Technical Specifications tab. This rating refers to the required water flow at the unit outlet, not the pump size itself.
Because water flow is reduced by hose length, fittings, and vertical lift (head pressure), the pump selected must be capable of delivering the required flow at your actual installation head. Always reference the pump’s performance curve to confirm this.

If you are running more than one air conditioner:
Tip: If your installation involves unusually long hose runs, multiple elevation changes, or shared manifolds, consult the pump flow curve or a marine HVAC professional to ensure proper sizing.
We know space on any marine vessel is limited and valuable! Our units are designed to be among the most compact in their class, but every installation space is different. Always measure your available space before purchasing.
Refer to the “Dimensions & Drawings” tab under each model for exact measurements, including overall size and service clearances. Confirm that there is adequate room not only for the unit itself, but also for hose connections, wiring, airflow, and future maintenance access.

Each unit is pre-charged, and includes the core components required to operate the system:
Installation-specific items — such as seawater pumps, plumbing components, ducting, venting, grilles, and fittings — vary by vessel and layout and are not included. These items must be selected separately based on your setup.
If you are replacing an existing marine air-conditioning unit, most installations can reuse the existing set up.
Many customers refer to this as a ‘plug-and-play’ replacement.
No. These units are designed exclusively for marine applications and are not supported for use outside of a marine environment.
Each marine air conditioner requires hundreds of gallons per hour of water flow from an open loop system. Water tanks, pools, tubs, etc. will not work.
They are also not UL-listed for use outside of a marine environment and are not approved for non-marine installations.
Generator size depends on your specific MarinAire model, voltage, and what other onboard loads you plan to run at the same time. We recommend consulting a qualified marine electrician for final generator selection and installation. You can run MarinAire on DC (battery) power by using a pure sine wave inverter to convert your battery bank’s DC into AC power. Because inverter sizing, wiring, and battery performance vary by installation, we strongly recommend consulting a qualified marine electrician for accurate system design and verification. Replaced an original cruse air unit in my 1980 Viking....Still cooling but "getting tired" after 45 years. This unit is quiet and works well....hope it lasts like the old unit !!
The unit is running perfect - very efficient and effective. I called customer support a few times as I installed this myself. They were always prompt in answering the phone, I always talked to a live person here in the US, and they were always able to answer my questions and provide assistance and recommendations regarding my specific installation.
The unit was a replacement for your earlier 9000 BTU model. It was easy to install and so far works well. If it last as long as the earlier model, it will outlive me! My son, Brent Walker bought two units, your 16000 and 9000 BTU models. He hasn't finished all of the ducting, but so far, he is also pleased with the units.
AC works great and was an easy switch out on my Bali Catspace. I need to replace a unit in a smaller cabin at the end of summer so I will be buying another in the 6K BTU. I will update then if this unit holds up. We are full time live-aboards so this unit gets a lot of use.

I received the unit a day later than expected. This was a bit of an issue as I had to physically be available to sign for a day and a half. I assume the product is fine and I will provide a second review once installed. The one takeaway for me is change shipping carriers. $#@Ex is just not worth it and their business model is not on behalf of the customer. That issue unfortunately reflects on your company offering this horrible shipping option.

The unit arrived on time and was exactly as advertised. Install was tight but doable. Initial operation is good and cooling well. Now we’ll have to see how long the unit last and what problems she’ll have. Hopefully I can rely on customer service to answer any questions that the manual does not.

I am replacing a 7000btu unit with this 9000 BTU unit. the footprint is almost the same and I went from a Freightliner firing up under my bed to just the sound of the wind.
First, congratulations to a personalized phone call back to me the very next morning to verify a couple of points Availability to sign for delivery, did we measure the space for the new unit to be used. It was a refreshing call and a pleasant suprise. PS: we will be purchasing two more units as well, and this has cemented the choice for it to be yours.

I received my unit quickly and very well packaged. Installation was easy because piping and electrical connections are located very similar to the equipment being replaced. The unit is very quiet, the only time I hear the compressor is when it starts, and only if I’m listening for it. The fan is powerful and quiet, and moves air around the boat much better than my original units. I installed in a 1991 Carver aft cabin, at 30 years old, it was overdue for the upgrade. It would be great to have decorative plates to cover where the old thermostats as an optional purchase, as well as adapters to connect multiple ducts…my original units had square flanged outputs, the new had round…I was able to fabricate adaptors with 6†duct caps pretty easily, but would have loved the option of purchasing with the units. Overall I’m very pleased with my purchase and have recommended the same to neighbors at the marina.
