Marinaire Universal Retrofit Control Kit July 10, 2013 Reviewer: Scott Clements from Bettendorf, IA United States   I have a 1997 3788 Bayliner with 2 Marine Air reverse air systems, original on the boat, one 12k btu and one 16k btu. Last week the main shore power breaker on line 2 failed and sent a short to the 12k A/C causing it to send error code LO-AC. Replaced the breaker but the A/C still showed the same error code and would not run. Shopped around for new control board and was amazed at there cost. Tested the compressor to make sure it was fine and it runs well. Bought this retrofit kit as a replacement, price was fantastic, Took about 2 hours to pull the old board and install the new one. Everything is working great, actually running better I think, when the compressor kicks on it is quieter and put less of a initial load on my system. Item shipped in 3 days, price was great and it works great. Will definitely use this if the control board on my 16k btu goes out. Was this review helpful to you?

The install is not for the amateur,unless you have an electrical background hire someone. Fast Service... May 20, 2013 Reviewer: Anna Brown from Gainesville, FL United States   Before making my purchase I emailed Marinaire with a few questions. What a surprise--they answered me back immediately! I half expected to get an automated message saying "we value your questions and will be getting back to you shortly" and then have to wait another few days before getting some useful information. Digital A/C control July 25, 2012 Reviewer: Chris S from Richmond, VA United States   I installed this in my boat in place of the old 3 knob analog control. It works very well, and was not too difficult to install. However, the installation directions are almost non-existent, just a schematic. I know how to read an electrical schematic, and someone else with a similar boat had already provided me with a color-code to  my boat's AC wiring. Someone who has no experience with electrical diagrams should probaby leave installation to a pro. Was this review helpful to you?
